There are so many different types and size of paint brushes for decorating that it is difficult to know which is the correct one for the job.
For large areas like walls and ceilings you’ll want a large brush that ‘loads’ plenty of paint and allows the paint to flow evenly off the bristles.
When it comes to painting skirting boards, doors etc, a wall brush is going to be far too big and cumbersome. A cutting in brush will be smaller than a wall brush and allow precision and control. Choose a brush with angled filament to get into the harder to reach areas.
Detail brushes are smaller still and there are a huge range of specialist types. Use detail brushes for such things as painting cornices, balustrades, furniture legs and intricate mouldings.
